Hengqin Border Crossing is located in the Hengqin New District of Zhuhai, which is connected to Cotai of Macao via the Lotus Bridge. The new Hengqin Boundary Crossing was fully opened on 18 August 2020 and provides 24-hour customs clearance service. The new Hengqin Boundary Control Point is the frontline and core hub of the Guangdong-Macao Deep Co-operation Zone, and its Passenger Hall is currently the largest passenger clearance monolithic building in Asia. Hengqin Port has fully adopted the “cooperative inspection and clearance, single release” mode of clearance, which has greatly enhanced its efficiency, with a designed daily passenger flow of about 222,000 and a vehicle flow of about 7,250, and is a new artery for promoting the moderate and diversified development of Macao's economy and facilitating the life and employment of residents of the two places.
