- New drivers must provide: - A photocopy of their Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card or Macao Resident Identity Card; - A photocopy of their People's Republic of China Motor Vehicle Driving Licence; - A photocopy of their Hong Kong (or Macao) driving licence; - A Home Visit Permit (Hong Kong and Macao Residents' Mainland Travel Permit) or, for foreign nationals, their passport accompanied by a Chinese translation certified by a provincial notary office; Drivers of vehicles entering Hong Kong/Macao from the Mainland shall also submit: Mainland Resident Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao, Identity Card, People's Republic of China Motor Vehicle Driving Licence (photocopy);
- One recent, full-face, bareheaded, colour photograph of the applicant, measuring 1 inch by 1 inch on a red background;
- Application for Cross-boundary Motor Vehicle and Driver in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.
