Gongbei Port, located at the junction of Gongbei in Zhuhai and the Macao Customs Gate, is the largest land-based travel control point in China, and with a long history, it has become the traditional backbone linking Zhuhai and Macao. The port adopts the traditional mode of “two places, two customs”, whereby travellers need to complete the immigration formalities for Zhuhai and Macao separately. Its passenger hall is open from 6:00am to 1:00am daily. Despite repeated expansions and renovations, the daily passenger flow often exceeds 400,000 during peak periods such as festivals and holidays, fully demonstrating its irreplaceable position as a core hub for the movement of people between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.
