Shenzhen Bay Port

Shenzhen Bay Port (SBP) is currently the largest integrated passenger and cargo highway port in Asia, located at Dongjiaotou, Shekou, Shenzhen, comprising three major parts, namely the port area, the Shenzhen Bay Bridge and the connecting link, which is connected to Ngau Kan Shek in Hong Kong via the Shenzhen Bay Bridge. It covers an area of 117.9 hectares (including 41.6 hectares for the Hong Kong Port area and 76.3 hectares for the Shenzhen Port area). The SBP was officially opened on July 1, 2007 and is the first land port in China to operate under the “co-location of immigration and customs facilities” model. The design capacity is 60,000 passengers/day and 58,700 vehicles/day (including 43,200 trucks/day, 0.15 million buses/day and 14,000 cars/day). There are 62 exit lanes (15 manual and 47 self-service lanes) and 55 entry lanes (17 manual and 38 self-service lanes) in the Passenger Terminal Building.

The C&ED and the Border Inspection Service (BIS) have set up 17 lanes for small vehicles and two lanes for large passenger vehicles at the immigration and customs clearance lanes for small (passenger) vehicles. On the outbound inspection lanes for goods vehicles, there are 27 lanes for C&ED and 22 lanes for BQSIQ; on the inbound inspection lanes for goods vehicles, there are 26 lanes for C&ED and 22 lanes for BQSIQ; and on the second lane of C&ED, there are 12 lanes. The inspection organizations at the ports include the Customs and Border Inspection, and the business units include banks and duty-free stores.
