Huanggang Port is a port connecting Shenzhen and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Located in the south of Shenzhen, Huanggang Port is an all-weather (24h) integrated passenger and cargo port in Shenzhen. The construction of Huanggang Port commenced in May 1985 and was opened to the public on 30 November 1988 with the approval of the State Council. the cargo portion of the port was opened to traffic on 29 December 1989, the cargo clearance channel was opened to traffic 24 hours a day on 3 November 1994, and the travel clearance channel was opened to traffic 24 hours a day on 27 January 2003. the redevelopment project of Huanggang Port was formally launched in June 2019, and the old travel clearance area was demolished and the temporary travel clearance area was completed. The redevelopment project of Huanggang Boundary Control Point was officially launched in June 2019, and the old passenger clearance area has been demolished and a temporary passenger clearance building has been built. The temporary passenger clearance building occupies an area of about 51,000 square metres, with a total gross floor area of about 14,000 square metres. The first floor is the hall for passenger clearance, while the first mezzanine and the first floor are for service rooms; the clearance lanes are divided into 40 lanes for passenger clearance and eight lanes for passenger vehicle clearance.
