Huanggang Port is a border crossing connecting Shenzhen City with the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Located in southern Shenzhen, it operates as a comprehensive passenger and cargo port open 24 hours a day. Construction of Huanggang Port commenced in May 1985. Following approval by the State Council on November 30, 1988, it opened to the public. The freight section commenced operations on December 29, 1989. On November 3, 1994, the cargo inspection channel began 24-hour clearance operations. On January 27, 2003, the passenger inspection channel also implemented 24-hour clearance. The Huanggang Port reconstruction project officially commenced in June 2019. The old passenger inspection area has been demolished, and a temporary passenger inspection building has been constructed. The temporary passenger inspection building covers approximately 51,000 square meters with a total floor area of about 14,000 square meters. The ground floor houses the passenger inspection hall, while the mezzanine and second floor accommodate service facilities. Inspection lanes comprise 40 passenger inspection lanes and 8 bus inspection lanes.
